St. Anthony Family Medicine Residency is excited to share with you recent information we received from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) regarding our program accreditation. As you know, the ACGME is the accrediting body for all of the allopathic residencies in the United States. In January 2008 we were informed that we had been given a full five years accreditation, the maximum number allowed. Only about one third of the family medicine programs in the country receive this level of accreditation.
The program is also accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and in May of 2008 we received similar good news from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The AOA’s Program and Trainee Review Council (PTRC) granted the maximum interval of five years accreditation to our program. This dual accreditation means the program meets the standards well for both accrediting organizations. It also demonstrates the resources are in place to provide strong residency training for you in family medicine.
